Hi, I'm Shashank. I moved to Bengaluru right after school, curious and a little restless. It felt like a city where things were happening, and I wanted to be around that. And I studied electrical and electronics engineering, but somewhere, I realised I wasn't doing something I actually wanted long-term.
Around that time, I started writing online. It began as a simple way to make some money on the side. Blogging, content writing, small projects here and there, enough to get a feel for how this space works. That early exposure mattered more than I realised back then.
After college, I tried going down the expected path, a full-time job in my field. It didn't work long. It felt too much in a way that didn't make sense to me, so stepping away was the only right choice I had. I leaned into writing again, this time even more seriously. I joined a startup where I could write content for an ecom product and also understand marketing better, and those first couple of years became a phase of figuring things out: what I was good at, what I enjoyed, and what I could see myself doing for a while.
I later spent close to two years at The Test Tribe, experienced working for community, events, large conferences. It gave me a much broader view of how the internet and people connect beyond content. More importantly, I met people who helped me think better about my own direction.
Through all of this, I kept writing, mostly on LinkedIn: observations, reflections, ideas, I enjoyed writing decently on things I was learning back then, and staying close to the craft.
Now, I work as an Account Manager at GrowedIn, helping executives and companies build their reputation online. It's work I genuinely enjoy, it sits at the intersection of writing, thinking, and understanding people, which is exactly where I wanted to be.
If there's one way to describe how I've lived so far: I follow curiosity and figure things out along the way. This site is a part of that.
